Level 2 Diversity and Inclusion

Program Overview

The Diversity and Inclusion certificate for Facilities Management is a short, face-to-face course that provides students with the knowledge and skills they need to create and maintain a diverse and inclusive workplace culture in facilities management. Students will learn about the importance of diversity and inclusion in facilities management, how to create an inclusive workplace culture, and how to manage diversity and inclusion in facilities management operations.
    Module 1: Introduction to Diversity and Inclusion in Facilities Management
  • Define diversity and inclusion and explain their importance in facilities management.
  • Identify the different dimensions of diversity, such as race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, and socioeconomic status.
  • Understand the benefits of a diverse and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Apply diversity and inclusion principles to facilities management practices.
    Module 2: Creating an Inclusive Workplace Culture in Facilities Management
  • Develop and implement strategies for creating an inclusive workplace culture in facilities management.
  • Promote diversity and inclusion awareness and training among facilities management staff.
  • Address unconscious bias and discrimination in the facilities management workplace.
  • Build and maintain a positive and supportive work environment for all employees.
    Module 3: Managing Diversity and Inclusion in Facilities Management Operations
  • Develop and implement diversity and inclusion policies and procedures for facilities management operations.
  • Manage diversity and inclusion issues in facilities management operations, such as recruitment, hiring, training, promotion, and performance management.
  • Create a diverse and inclusive supplier base for facilities management services.
  • Promote diversity and inclusion in facilities management marketing and communications.
  • High school or equivalent
