Program Overview

The Introduction to Front Desk, Reception & Reservations certificate is a short, face-to-face course that provides students with the knowledge and skills they need to work in a front office management position in a hotel or other hospitality establishment. Students will learn about the different procedures involved in front office management, including reception and reservation procedures, guest check-in and check-out processes, and concierge services and guest relations.
    Module 1: Introduction to the Front Office

  • Identify the different departments and functions of the front office.
  • Learn about the importance of the front office in a hotel or other hospitality establishment.
  • Understand the different types of front office management positions.
    Module 2: Front Office Reception and Reservation Procedures
  • Understand the different procedures involved in reception and reservation, such as greeting guests, taking reservations, and assigning rooms.
  • Learn about the different types of software used for reception and reservation.
  • Develop skills in performing the different procedures involved in reception and reservation.
    Module 3: Guest Check-In and Check-Out Processes
  • Understand the different procedures involved in guest check-in and check-out, such as verifying identification, issuing keys, and collecting payments.
