Level 2 Workplace Management

Program Overview

The Workplace Management certificate provides students with the knowledge and skills they need to effectively manage a workplace. Students will learn about workplace planning and design, workplace safety and security, workplace maintenance and operations, and workplace sustainability and environmental management.
    Module 1: Introduction to Workplace Management
  • Define workplace management and explain its importance.
  • Identify the different types of workplaces and the unique challenges and requirements of each.
  • Understand the different functions of workplace management, such as planning, design, operations, maintenance, safety, security, and sustainability.
  • Describe the role of workplace management in supporting organizational goals.
    Module 2: Workplace Planning and Design
  • Apply workplace planning and design principles to create functional, efficient, and aesthetically pleasing workplaces.
  • Consider factors such as space requirements, traffic flow, accessibility, and sustainability when designing workplaces.
  • Use design software to create and visualize workplace plans and layouts.
  • Develop workplace planning and design drawings that can be used for construction or renovation purposes.
    Module 3: Workplace Operations and Maintenance
  • Develop and implement workplace operations and maintenance plans.
  • Manage workplace operations and maintenance budgets.
  • Oversee the work of workplace operations and maintenance staff.
  • Ensure that workplaces are clean, safe, and comfortable for employees and visitors.
    Module 4: Workplace Safety and Security
  • Identify and assess workplace hazards.
  • Develop and implement workplace safety and security programs.
  • Train employees on workplace safety and security procedures.
  • Manage workplace safety and security incidents.
    Module 5: Workplace Sustainability
  • Define workplace sustainability and explain its importance.
  • Identify and implement sustainable practices in workplace planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance.
