Program Overview

The Change Management Certificate in Facilities Management is a short, face-to-face course that provides students with the knowledge and skills they need to manage change effectively in a facilities management setting. Students will learn about the different stages of change, how to plan and implement change effectively, and how to manage resistance to change. They will also learn how to evaluate and sustain change over time.
    Module 1: Understanding Change Management Define change management and explain its importance. Identify the different types of change and their impact on individuals and organizations. Understand the change process and the factors that contribute to successful change. Apply change management principles to real-world scenarios. Module 2: Planning for Change Conduct a change assessment to identify the need for change, the drivers for change, and the potential impacts of change. Develop a change plan that outlines the goals of change, the steps involved in change, and the resources required for change. Communicate the change plan to stakeholders and get their buy-in. Manage the risks associated with change. Module 3: Implementing Change Execute the change plan according to schedule and budget. Monitor and measure progress towards change goals. Make adjustments to the change plan as needed. Communicate effectively with stakeholders throughout the change process. Module 4: Managing Resistance to Change Identify and understand the different sources of resistance to change. Develop and implement strategies to manage resistance to change. Communicate with stakeholders to address their concerns about change. Build support for change among stakeholders. Module 5: Evaluating and Sustaining Change Evaluate the effectiveness of the change effort. Identify and address any unintended consequences of change. Implement strategies to sustain change over time. Celebrate the successes of the change effort.
